Miami builds robots now.
The engineers are here. The capital is here. The audience is here. What has been missing is any reason for those three to be in the same building on the same night.
The Southeast is not San Francisco, and that is an advantage.
San Francisco robotics runs on hype. Capital moves on a demo video and a narrative. The Southeast is more conservative, asks harder questions about numbers, and does not fund things because they are exciting.
That makes it slower and it makes it more durable. A robotics scene built here has to justify itself commercially from the start, which is a better filter than a good demo reel.
Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana together have enough engineering talent to support a real robotics ecosystem. It has never been visible in one place. We are trying to make it visible.
Who we want in the room.
Builders.
Anyone with hardware, at any level, from a garage to a lab.
Students.
University robotics teams. We would rather subsidise your entry than not have you there.
Existing groups.
Other robotics event organisers, including ones who have done this before and know things we do not. This is not a competition for territory.
Investors.
People who want to look at this category and have had nowhere to do it.
Anyone curious.
You do not need a background in this to come and find it fascinating.
We would rather collaborate than compete.
Groups on the West Coast have been running events like this for years and have made every mistake we are about to make. We would rather bring them in than repeat their learning at our own expense.
