Miami, Florida
Robotics, in public.
AI Miyagi is a robotics event in Miami. Choreographed humanoid showcases, a live combat bracket with a real prize pool, and the research that comes out of both. Built to put South Florida robotics in front of an audience.
First event in preparation. Join the list and
you will have the date before it is public.
Two kinds of fight
One night. Two very different things.
Rehearsed
The Exhibition
Humanoid robots running choreographed combat sequences. Every motion is programmed, every beat is rehearsed, and the result is a performance rather than a contest. It is the most advanced thing anyone can currently put on a stage, and we will tell you exactly that.
Inside the exhibition
Live
The Open Bracket
Teleoperated combat robots, real teams, real damage, and an outcome nobody knows in advance. Open entry, published prize pool, single elimination. This is the sport half of the night.
Enter the bracket
Outline means rehearsed. Solid means live. Every fight on every card we publish carries one or the other, so you always know what you are watching.
The point
A robotics scene needs a room to happen in.
South Florida has engineers, capital and an audience, and almost no reason for those three to be in the same building. San Francisco has that room. Shenzhen has that room. Miami has not had one.
AI Miyagi is the room. The event brings builders, investors and press into the same night, the research gives the field something real to work on, and the companies that come out of it are the actual point.
Research
The interesting problems are the ones the robots lose to.
Watch any humanoid demo closely and the same thing happens. Contact is made, and both machines go down like noodles. That failure is not a detail. It is the frontier.
Push recovery, the sensor to action gap, motion interpolation from human capture. These are open problems with real published work behind them, and they are what our lab and the teams around it are actually working on.
Building something with actuators in it?
Bring it. Open bracket entry, exhibition collaboration, or just come stand in the room.
